Pike
The Americans call these
wide transomed flat
bottomed pointy bowed
boats 'skiffs' which are an
outgrowth in some ways of
the dory, but more initial
stability and sail carrying
ability, but still narrow
enough to be rowed. These
are ideal as estuary family
sailing and dinghy cruising
boats. They are easily
loaded onto a garden trailer.
Pike at 4.6m with a beam of
1.17 carries thre to four
adults reasonably well under
sail or oar.
Construction Method: sheet
plywood Construction
Options: traditional plank
