Basset Rowboat
"Liz"
18' x 2'11" x 6"
‘Liz’ is the classic, wine glass transom, one + passenger seat, recreational sliding seat rowing boat – designed by Ken Basset and built from plans acquired from Duck Flat Wooden Boats.
The various construction shots show the 4 mm Gaboon ply lapstrake (clinker) planks – individually shaped and epoxy glued, details of stem and transom, the fittings (sliding seat, foot rest, passenger seat etc).
There are also several shots of the launch of ‘Liz’, everybody impressed with the design and build quality.
“Liz’ is configured like a racing shell – with seat, riggers, foot rest all at the correct height and position – supplied by a top racing boat builder. It’s just that the hull is a lot more stable and easy to row. It is a beautiful, classic, recreational rowing scull that will give years of pleasure (and very good exercise too).
The builder, unfortunately, has to make way in his boatshed for the next two boats (a smaller lightweight recreational scull and also a WRC strip plank tender for his recently completed, David Payne designed 7 m Day Yacht).

Trailer
Sailer - "Banana Republic"
18'6" x 6'
Just in time for Christmas! ...and a bargain to boot!
A stunning trailer sailer, similar to a Hartley TS16, ready
to sail ...you could be on the water today!
Though a tad longer and narrower than a TS16, it's easier
to sail and rig. She sports a bermuda unstayed boomless rig
that goes up in minutes without any fuss. She light, fast,
simple and has a good sailing record.
The finish is impeccable and has a comfortable cabin for
a boat this size. She comes with a Johnson 4hp Outboard, galvanised
trailer, anchor and paddles.
