Kingfisher is a dory designed by Richard Wilson in New Zealand 5.48 metres (18 feet) long and a beam of 2.08 m (6 feet 10 inches). This design was the subject of an article in Wooden Boat 2010 Small Boats Magazine. The boat has been used sparingly so is in as new condition.

The boat is built from 9mm marine ply double epoxy coated. The topsides are lapstrake planked. The bottom and cockpit floor have been fiberglassed to resist wear. The cockpit is self draining. There are two timber keels 2 feet apart capped with aluminium which provide stability when the boat is beached. The motor is mounted in an internal well which contributes to its clean lines. The rear seat contains a locker which which houses the battery and the fuel tanks. A forward seat locker contains the safety gear. Safety gear includes anchor, flares, life jackets (4), torch and fire extinguisher.

The motor is a 20HP Honda four stroke that has been used for less than 10 hours. It has electric start and power tilt. Fuel is contained in two tanks, one 20 litre and the other 10 litre.

The trailer was purpose built for the boat and is equipped with all new winch, tyres, axles, jockey wheel and disc brakes. The lights are sealed LED.
