Under Construction

...but in the meantime...

The minutes of our Inaugural General Meeting held on the 11th January 2006.

At the meeting all the postal votes were read out and the comments were discussed, and acted upon.

It was decided against holding Come & Try Days as the cost of insurance is prohibitive. Instead we will make it known that at race days or events, people interested will be able to have a look at the boats and possibly have a sail, time and restraints permitting.

This leads to our first National Get-Together. Clayton Bay Boat Club will be holding their annual Rat Island Regatta on the 8th & 9th April 2006. The races are not so much around the buoys, but more of a laid back longer distance race around an island and back, should be great fun. The club will hold a special class just for us if we have enough boats, so we are inviting all members to attend. There will be at least four boats from SA, so letŐs see how many we can get together. We will be having a general meeting on the Sunday after the race so even if you don't have a boat, come for the weekend.

Ted Dexter from Duck Flat Wooden Boats has been kind enough to sponsor a web page on his site to promote the club. To this end we must supply all data to be inserted on the page. The Newsletter will be published online, as will the minutes of meetings. All news and results will be included, so we need you as members to support this with pictures of your boats and stories no matter how trivial they may seem. Some pictures and stories from Tassie would be great, I already have some pictures that members have sent to me which will be published.

I have listed an Email address that you can send info to me, otherwise post them and Ted will scan them in.

Happy sailing.
Glen Linke
